Hawaiian Adaptive Surfing Championships – Duke’s Ocean Festival

The Duke’s Ocean Festival embraces aloha and celebrates every year on Duke Kahanamoku’s birthday of
August 24 th throughout the week in an 8-day celebration where there are numerous types of water
sports competitions. From stand-up paddling, swimming, and life guard competitions to the adaptive
surf contest Duke’s Ocean Festival celebrates the spirit of Duke Kahanamoku.

AccesSurf’s Hawaiian Adaptive Surfing Championships is the premiere adaptive surf contest on the
planet. In 2017 the Hawaiian Adaptive Surfing Championship saw its eleventh year and had over 85
adaptive surfers from over 14 countries competing. It is the longest running and most prestigious
adaptive surfing championship to date. The spirit of aloha and ohana at this event is unmistakable, it is
what has always made this event head and shoulders above the rest.
